Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been earned on hard courts

A revitalized the Russian player won his maiden title for 882 days with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition final.

The athlete, a ex- world number one, has experienced a difficult year, managing just one win at the Grand Slams and undergoing a setback at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in particular - resulted in him exiting of the top ten and ultimately separating with long-term coach his previous coach.

Currently collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the past month - climaxing in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over opponent Corentin Moutet.

This represents his initial title following the Rome competition and initial on a hard court since spring of the previous year.

Success also means he has won twenty-one championships at 21 different events.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a competition with my both daughters together, so to secure a title is really nice," commented ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my older daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had lost his past six championship matches, including in that event earlier this year.

The player's retrieving strategy and frequent outbursts on the tennis court had prompted some to wonder if his capacity to perform at the elite level was concluded.

Yet the athlete has altered his approach in the past month, striving to come to the net and perform aggressively, reinforced by an improved serving game.

He came back from a break down in the first set against the challenging Moutet, winning 4 of the last five points to go ahead.

The competitors exchanged break points in the second set before Moutet, striving for his maiden professional title, took control to create a final set.

Moutet saved four early-game chances in a tight third set before the Russian won the break to 15 to secure the win.

Suitably, the winner clinched the title with a point at the front of the court, with the Frenchman failing to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
