I'll overwhelm 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the pair came face-to-face to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex two time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive disparity - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I will damage his features and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to genuinely try to hurt him. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

Despite those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK rival Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Still, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, consistently making substantial earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul met for the customary face-off, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it highlighted just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the fight is truly going ahead.
