Major Moscow's Assaults Cut Electricity In Kyiv

Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have faced escalating attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian aerial assaults have resulted in blackouts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were wounded while inhabitants in the city's east were plunged into darkness and encountered interruptions to water supplies, as stated by local authorities.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a distinct Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, according to regional authorities.

Moscow has intensified strikes on energy facilities over the past few days, while the country's government has called for "real steps" from allies to exert influence on Russia.

"What is required is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the United States, Europe and the G7 - in supplying air defence systems and applying restrictions," was stated in a social media post.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 missiles targeted the country's power systems, characterizing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were laboring to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes damaged power facilities and residential structures in the capital.

Several of the people hurt in the assaults on the capital have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by city authorities.

Area administrators said the metropolitan region came under significant strikes overnight. A minor was killed and multiple civilians were wounded.

The attacks come after nights of aerial attacks in the region, sections of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to detect.

Government officials told reporters that Russia was deliberately attempting to damage the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already impacting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and authorities were anticipating further attacks.
